Receiving Email Alerts When Fax Reception Is Disabled

If you've temporarily disabled fax reception on one of your fax numbers, you can still be notified whenever someone attempts to send you a fax. This ensures you never miss an important message, even while your number isn't actively receiving faxes.

How It Works

When fax reception is disabled, incoming faxes are not delivered to your account. However, by enabling email alerts, you'll receive a notification each time a sender tries to fax your disabled number. This allows you to follow up with the sender if needed and decide whether to re-enable reception.

How to Enable Email Alerts

  1. Navigate to your Numbers section, if your account is Business or Enterprise or Faxing --> My Fax --> Fax Reception if your account is Premium.
  2. Locate the fax number for which you want to disable reception and click the menu (⋮) next to it.
  3. Select Disable Fax Reception.
  4. In the confirmation dialog, check the box labeled "Receive email alerts if someone attempts to send a fax to this number."
  5. Click Confirm to save your changes.

Once enabled, email alerts will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

Tip: The option to toggle your fax reception ON/OFF is only available to the users of the Premium, Business, or Enterprise plans. To access this feature, please upgrade your plan by visiting the Fax.Plus pricing page here.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving the email alerts.

  • Check your Spam or Junk folder, as notifications may occasionally be filtered there.
  • Make sure the email address linked to your account is correct and active.
  • Confirm that the email alert checkbox was selected when you disabled reception. If unsure, you can re-enable reception and disable it again with the option checked.
