If you want to move a fax number previously ported to Fax.Plus to another provider, the new provider will request a port-out PIN (transfer PIN) from you. Here’s how to obtain yours.
Quick path
Email support@alohi.com from the email address on your account with the subject line "Port-out PIN request." Include:
- Your fax number (the one you want to port out, with country code). Ensure the number was previously ported in to Fax.Plus.
- The name of the receiving provider.
- The reason for the port out.
We'll respond within 1-2 business days with your port-out PIN and the account information your new provider will need.
What information your new provider will typically need
In addition to the PIN, the new provider may ask for:
- The full name and billing address on the Fax.Plus account.
- Account number (your fax number can be used as your account number).
- A signed Letter of Authorization (LOA), which the new provider usually drafts.
Things to know before porting out
- Your Fax.Plus subscription continues until you cancel it. Porting out doesn't automatically cancel your plan. Once your number is successfully ported, cancel your Fax.Plus subscription separately to avoid further charges.
- Number availability check first. Only numbers that were previously ported into Fax.Plus can be ported out. We can confirm whether your number is portable on our side before initiating the transfer.
- Don't cancel until the port completes. If you cancel your Fax.Plus subscription before the port finishes, your number is released and the port will fail. Wait until your new provider confirms the port is complete, then cancel.
