How to Anonymize Your Fax Header

Fax.Plus gives you the option to anonymize the header of your outgoing faxes. This means you can customize the text displayed in the fax header so that your Fax.Plus number does not appear there. Instead, you can replace it with any information of your choice (for example, your company name or department name).

Note: The caller ID (the sending number) will always remain your Fax.Plus number.

How It Can Be Applied

  • Account-Wide (by request): The account owner can request anonymization for the entire account, so all users’ headers are masked.
  • Per User (by request): It’s also possible to anonymize the header for specific users. In this case, those users can manually input their preferred header information before sending a fax.

Important Notes

  • The caller ID (sending number) will always remain your Fax.Plus number, even if the header is anonymized.
  • If a user is assigned a fax number, that number is shown as the caller ID. If no number is assigned, the account’s default number is used.
  • This feature is not enabled by default. To activate header anonymization, please contact our support team at support@alohi.com with your request.
