Using in-app purchases (IAP) with work accounts on iOS & Android

If you're upgrading to a Business or Enterprise plan on the Fax.Plus or Sign.Plus mobile apps using a work account, please note how in-app purchases (IAP) are handled by Google and Apple. Purchases are often linked to the primary account on your device, which can lead to issues if your work account is secondary.

Android (Google Play)

  • Google Play always uses the main Google account on the device for IAP.
  • If your work account is not set as the main account, you won't be able to use it for payment (even if you're logged into the app with it).

Solution: Use a Work Profile (Google’s MDM sandbox) to separate work and personal environments. Learn more: Set up a Work Profile

iOS (Apple App Store)

  • Apple supports multiple Apple IDs, but App Store purchases default to the active iCloud/App Store account.
  • If your corporate Apple ID is not the one signed in for the App Store, the purchase may be linked to your personal account.

Solution: Use Apple User Enrollment (MDM) or ensure you're signed into the correct Apple ID before making a purchase. Learn more: Apple User Enrollment Overview

Best Practices

  • Confirm which account is active in the App Store or Google Play before making a purchase.
  • If your company uses MDM, ensure your device is properly enrolled.

Note: For Business and Enterprise plans, we recommend using the web platform for purchasing if you're unsure which account your app store is using.
