Who can use this feature?
Available on Business and Enterprise plans.
Accessible to Owners and Admins on Web App.
If you’d like your account users to be able to receive faxes, you’ll need to assign a fax number to each of them. You also have the option to assign the same fax number to multiple users, allowing everyone assigned to that number to access incoming faxes.
Note: Receiving a one-page fax on a number assigned to multiple users will deduct multiple pages from the monthly allocated quota of the corporate subscription plan.
Follow these steps to assign the same fax number to multiple members:
- Log in to your Fax.Plus account, and go to the Numbers section on your Dashboard.
- Find the fax number you wish to assign to your members, and click on More (⋮), followed by Manage Assignment.
- Once a pop-up window is revealed, select the members you wish to assign the designated fax number to.
- Click on Confirm.
To avoid multiple page charges on non-HIPAA accounts, you can forward received faxes to multiple email addresses instead of assigning the same fax number to several users. This ensures that each fax is counted only once. To learn how to set this up, see: How can I forward my received faxes to multiple email addresses?
Please note that when using email forwarding, users will receive faxes in their email only and will not be able to access them from the Fax.Plus Inbox for future reference.
Alternatively, if certain members only need to send faxes and do not need to receive them, you can unassign the fax number from their account. They will still be able to send faxes using the default caller ID. For more details, see: What is the preset caller ID, and how can I modify it?
