With Sign.Plus, you can add an extra layer of trust to your agreements by enabling ID Verification for your signers. This ensures that the person signing is truly who they say they are.

How ID Verification Works

When a signer is asked to complete ID Verification, they are guided through a simple, secure process on their smartphone:

  1. Scan an ID document – The signer uses their phone camera to capture a passport, ID card, or another accepted document.
  2. Take a quick selfie video – This step confirms that the person presenting the ID is the actual document holder.
  3. Automatic verification – The system checks that the ID is authentic and matches the signer’s identity.

Once successfully verified, the signer can immediately proceed to complete the signature request.

What the Sender Sees

As the sender, you’ll be able to view:

  • Successful verification confirmation – Assurance that the signer’s identity has been validated.
  • The name extracted from the ID – Allowing you to confirm the signer matches your intended recipient.

What Remains Private

For security and privacy reasons, you will not see or receive:

  • Photos of the ID document.
  • The selfie video used for verification.
  • A copy of the verification report.

This ensures compliance with privacy standards and protects sensitive personal data.

Why This Matters

ID Verification gives you:

  • Peace of mind – Know that your documents are signed by the right person.
  • Stronger compliance – Meet higher security and verification requirements.
  • A seamless experience – Your signers complete the process quickly and easily from their smartphones.

Tip: We recommend enabling ID Verification for high-value contracts, sensitive agreements, or whenever extra assurance is needed.
