How can I implement an ID Check in a Signature Request?

Ensuring the security of your documents during the signature process is paramount. Sign.Plus offers an added layer of protection by allowing you to implement an ID Check verification powered by AI for your recipients.

Follow these steps to implement an ID Check verification when requesting a signature:

Sender Instructions

  1. Log in to your Sign.Plus account via Web app.
  2. Proceed with requesting a signature. Once you have uploaded the document that needs to be signed, navigate to the Add Recipients section.
  3. List the individuals required to sign the document.
  4. Next to the recipient's role, you will find an icon that resembles a face. Click on this to access the Recipient Verification options.

  5. Select ID Check (AI-powered verification) from the drop-down menu.

  6. Click Next to continue with the signature request process. Review your document thoroughly before sending.

    Note: Please ensure that the Admin of your account has activated this feature and that your account has enough credits to request such verification. For more information, refer to this article.

Recipient/Signer Instructions

As the signer, you will receive a signature request via email. When you click the link, you will first need to verify your identity to access the document. Most ID documents are accepted, including a passport, ID card, residence permit, and driver's license, though this may vary depending on your country. Make sure you have your document ready before starting the process.

  1. To access the document, click on the Review Document link provided in the signature request email. You will be redirected to the verification page.
  2. To verify your identity, check the box confirming you have identification documents and click on the Start Verification link.
  3. You will be redirected to a page called Let’s get you verified, where you will need to either scan the QR code on a mobile device or be sent a secure link to your mobile number to start the verification process.
    Once you are on your mobile phone, you can start the verification process by clicking on Let’s go!
  4. You will be asked to take a photo of your ID document, which can be a Driver’s Licence, Residence Permit, Passport or ID Card.
  5. You will then be prompted to Take a selfie.
  6. Once done, you will be prompted to return to your other device to continue the process by clicking on Continue. If you started the process from your phone, you can continue via this device.
  7. If the verification was successful, you will see a green tick with the You’re All Set message, and you can click on Continue.

  8. Only after successful verification will you be prompted to sign the document. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your signature.
