Why is my signed document missing signatures? Email said it was signed

My signed document doesn't show the signatures, but I got an email saying it's complete

This is a serious issue and it's rare. If you've received a completion email but the downloaded document doesn't show signatures, here's what's happening and how to fix it.

First, make sure you're looking at the final signed version

Sign.Plus produces the following during a signing workflow:
- The Document PDF (the final document with signatures embedded).
- The audit trail (it is showing who signed and when).

If you're looking at the draft you saved, you won't see the signatures.

To get the certified signed version:

1. Log in to Sign.Plus.
2. Go to Documents → Completed.
3. Click on the completed signing request.
4. Click Download Document PDF.

The certified signed PDF includes the embedded signatures.

If the certified signed PDF genuinely doesn't show signatures

  1. Try opening it in Adobe Acrobat Reader rather than another PDF viewer. Some PDF viewers (especially older ones) don't render embedded form-field signatures correctly. Adobe Acrobat Reader is the most reliable.
  2. Check the signature panel in Acrobat. Even if the visual signature isn't showing, Acrobat's Signature Panel (View → Show/Hide → Navigation Panes → Signatures) shows whether signatures are embedded in the document.
  3. Re-download the document. Sometimes a partial download corrupts the rendering.

If signatures are still missing after all of the above

Contact support@alohi.com immediately. Include:

- The document name and date.
- A copy of the downloaded document (so we can inspect).
- The completion email you received.

For legal users, mark the email as urgent. We treat document integrity issues as P1 priority.
