When you receive a confirmation email or notification from Fax.Plus stating that your fax was successfully transmitted, it means that the destination fax machine has definitively received your fax. This confirmation is based on the transmission status we receive directly from the recipient's fax machine. A successful transmission status is only issued when the destination machine explicitly confirms receipt.
What to do if the recipient claims they haven't received the fax
If the recipient reports that they did not receive your fax despite a successful transmission notification, consider the following possible issues:
- Incorrect fax number: Double-check that you sent the fax to the correct number. A simple typo can result in the fax being delivered to an unintended recipient.
- Printing delays or technical issues on the recipient's end:
- The recipient's fax machine may take some time to process and print the fax.
- Their machine might be out of paper or toner, which could delay or prevent the printing of the fax.
Recommended actions
- Verify the fax number: Ensure that the number you entered is accurate and corresponds to the intended recipient.
- Check with the recipient: Ask them to confirm that their fax machine is functioning properly and has sufficient paper and toner.
- Resend if necessary: Once you've confirmed the above, you may try resending the fax.
