If you’re seeing an error message like “Paid plan is required to send a fax to a high-rate destination”, it means the destination you’re trying to fax—such as Austria (+43)—requires a subscription plan, regardless of whether you have account credit.
Why doesn’t my credit work for these destinations?
While adding credit (e.g., €8.99) enables you to pay per page, some destinations are classified as high-rate due to higher transmission costs. These destinations can only be accessed through a paid subscription plan, even if you have enough credit in your account.
Note: You cannot fax to high-rate destinations using a Pay-As-You-Go or Free plan, even if your account has credit.
How to check fax rates and requirements
To see if your destination requires a subscription:
- Visit www.fax.plus/rates
- Enter the destination number (e.g., +43 for Austria) at the top of the page.
- Review the rate per page.
What should I do next?
If you notice on the rates page that sending a fax to your destination costs multiple pages, simply upgrade your plan to one that supports high-rate destinations. Once you’ve upgraded, any credit on your account will be used toward faxing costs.
