What are Advanced Security Controls?

Who can use this feature?

Available on Enterprise plans.

Accessible to Owners and Admins on Web App.

Advanced Security Controls (ASC) grant greater authority over data protection, allowing for the implementation of more stringent security policies to adhere to regulations and standards like HIPAA.

In addition to the comprehensive security measures, we employ to guarantee the utmost security and privacy for each of our users and their data, administrators of our Enterprise plans have the option to activate Advanced Security Controls.

Follow these steps below to enable Advanced Security Controls on Sign.Plus and Fax.Plus:

Enable ASC on Sign.Plus
  1. Login to your Sign.Plus account, and go to the Profile section on your Dashboard.
  2. Under the tab for Compliance, find HIPAA. Look for Advanced Security Control, click on Activate.
  3. Advanced Security Controls will now be activated for your entire team.
Enable ASC on Fax.Plus
  1. Login to your Fax.Plus account, and go to the Profile section on your Dashboard.

  2. Under the tab for Security, find Company-Wide Settings. Look for Advanced Security Control, click on Activate.
  3. Advanced Security Controls will now be activated for your entire team.

When Advanced Security Controls are activated, immediate changes are implemented on both Sign.Plus and Fax.Plus platforms as follows:

Sign.Plus

  • Email notifications will only consist of a notification message and will not feature the signed file as an attachment. This applies to scenarios where a user with Advanced Security Controls enabled is designated to receive a copy of a document once it is completed.
  • To enhance document security among signers, the ability to include recipients as "Copy" will be limited.
  • Users will be able to request the signing of a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).


Fax.Plus

  • Email and Slack notifications will only consist of a notification message and will not feature the faxed file as an attachment. This makes sure your faxed documents are stored in a fully encrypted and secure archive. Moreover, kindly note that we do not accept documents in the form of an email to be faxed out. All faxes must be transmitted exclusively through our secure application to guarantee the highest level of security.
  • The integration with Zapier will be deactivated, but you can continue to make use of our API service to seamlessly incorporate faxing into your existing system.
  • Users will be able to request the signing of a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
