An audit trail compiles comprehensive details about the delivery and signing progress for each document involved in the signing procedure. It serves to verify the legitimacy of an electronic signature and offers real-time logs of any actions that transpired throughout the signing process.
For each log, the following data can be captured for the involved parties:
- Document status by recipient action (viewed, signed, voided, rejected)
- Name and email address
- Date and time stamp
- IP address
- Device
Benefit: An audit trail provides non-editable logs that captures any activity that has occurred with information such as name, IP address, email address, device.
