What is an audit trail?

An audit trail compiles comprehensive details about the delivery and signing progress for each document involved in the signing procedure. It serves to verify the legitimacy of an electronic signature and offers real-time logs of any actions that transpired throughout the signing process.

For each log, the following data can be captured for the involved parties:

    • Document status by recipient action (viewed, signed, voided, rejected)
    • Name and email address
    • Date and time stamp
    • IP address
    • Device

Benefit: An audit trail provides non-editable logs that captures any activity that has occurred with information such as name, IP address, email address, device.

Follow these steps to view your document's audit trail:

  1. Log in to your Sign.Plus account and go to the Documents section on your Dashboard.
  2. Find the document you wish to view its audit trail and click on More (⋮).
  3. Click on Audit Trail to view tamper-proof logs.
