How to set up Fax.Plus for HubSpot

Who can use this feature?

Available on Business or higher plan.

All members.

(coming soon) Connect Fax.Plus to your HubSpot account so your team can send and receive faxes from a record, and send faxes from inside HubSpot workflows. This guide is for the HubSpot admin who installs the app. Setup takes about 10 minutes.

Before you start

You need:

  • A HubSpot account with permission to install apps from the Marketplace.
  • A Fax.Plus account on the Business plan or higher, which includes the HubSpot integration. Anyone can install and connect; you need a Business or higher plan to send faxes.
  • At least one Fax.Plus number to send and receive from.

Step 1: Install from the HubSpot Marketplace

  1. Open the Fax.Plus listing in the HubSpot App Marketplace.
  2. Select Install app.
  3. Pick the HubSpot account to install into.

Step 2: Connect your Fax.Plus account

  1. HubSpot shows the permissions the app needs (reading contacts, writing fax activity to records, and so on). Review and allow them.
  2. Log in to Fax.Plus when asked, to link the two accounts.
  3. When it finishes, you are returned to HubSpot and the app shows as Connected.

You can connect on any Fax.Plus plan. Sending requires the Business plan or higher (Step 4).

Step 3: Set your default sender number

Open the Fax.Plus app settings in HubSpot and choose the default number faxes are sent from. Your team can still change the sender on a single fax, but this sets the default for everyone.

Step 4: Check your plan

In the app settings, the plan status shows whether you are on an eligible plan.

  • If you are, your team can send right away.
  • If not, use the link to Fax.Plus billing to upgrade to the Business plan or higher. Install, connection, and setup all work before you upgrade; only sending is blocked until the plan is active.

Step 5: Add the Fax.Plus card to your records

The Fax.Plus card is what your team uses on a contact, company, deal, or ticket. If it is not already on your record pages, add it through HubSpot's record customization (or the app's Manage locations option). The card has Send, Sent, and Inbox tabs.

Step 6 (optional): Add the fax action to a workflow

To send faxes automatically, add the Send Fax via Fax.Plus action to any HubSpot workflow. You set the recipient, the file (an attached file or a cover-page template with merged record fields), and what happens on failure. See Send and receive faxes from a HubSpot record.

You are done

Open any record where the card is placed and select Send to try it.
