How to send a fax using your email with Fax.Plus

Who can use this feature?

Available on All Paid Plans.

Accessible to All Members.

The Email to Fax feature provides a convenient way to send faxes directly from your email, without needing to log in to any application or website.

Please note that this feature is available only with our paid plans and is not included in the Free Plan.

If you’re currently on the Free Plan and wish to send faxes via email, we kindly invite you to upgrade your account to one of our paid plans to access this functionality.

Step 1: Set up Email to Fax in your Fax.Plus account

Before you send a fax via email, make sure:

  • You’re using the same email address linked to your Fax.Plus account.
  • The Email to Fax feature is activated.
  • You have enough credits to send faxes.

Here’s how to check:

  1. Log in to your Fax.Plus dashboard.
  2. Go to the Settings section.
  3. Open the Faxing tab.
  4. Under Email to Fax, click Edit.
  5. Enable the following toggles:
    • Send Fax via Email
    • Include Email Content in Fax (the email body will be treated as a cover sheet and will be sent as the first page of your fax). By disabling this feature, only the attachments of the email will be faxed, and the body of the email will be completely ignored.
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Step 2: Send your fax from your email

Once Email to Fax is activated:

  1. Open your email client and click Compose.
  2. In the To field, enter the destination fax number in this format:
    +[CountryCode][AreaCode][FaxNumber]@fax.plus
    Example: +16692001010@fax.plus

Note: To send a fax to multiple recipients, list each address separated by commas, just like a regular group email: +16692001010@fax.plus, +16693210222@fax.plus

  3. Use the Subject field to add a note (optional). This note will appear under the Sent Faxes section in your Fax.Plus account.

  4. Attach the documents you want to fax. Supported file formats include: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PNG, JPG, RTF and TIFF.

Want to add a cover sheet? Just type the cover content in the body of your email. It will be treated as the first page of your fax.

  5. Click on Send.
You’ll receive a delivery status email confirming whether the fax was sent successfully.
