FAQ: Salesforce integration

Who can use this feature?

Available on Business or higher plan.

All members.

Quick answers about the Fax.Plus integration for Salesforce. For setup steps, see Set up Fax.Plus for Salesforce.

Plans and billing

Which Fax.Plus plan do I need? The Business plan or higher, which includes the Salesforce integration at no extra charge. Anyone can install and connect, but you need a Business or higher plan to send faxes.

Is there a separate charge from Salesforce? No. You pay Fax.Plus directly. There is no revenue share with Salesforce and no AppExchange charge for the app.

Can I install and set it up before I upgrade? Yes. You can install, connect, and place the components first. Your team can send faxes once an eligible plan (Business or higher) is active.

Access and accounts

Who can install the app? A Salesforce admin with permission to install AppExchange packages.

Do my Salesforce email and Fax.Plus email have to match? The account you use to connect the org does not have to match. But each user needs a Fax.Plus account on the same email they use in Salesforce to use the tools on a record.

Can non-admins connect, or only the admin? Both Fax.Plus admins and members can complete the connection. You do not have to be a Fax.Plus owner.

A user has no access. Why? They are either not in the Fax.Plus permission set in Salesforce, or they have no Fax.Plus account on their email. See Troubleshoot the Salesforce connection

Using it

Which records can I fax from? Opportunity, Contact, Account, Lead, and custom objects, wherever your admin placed the component and the Send with Fax.Plus button.

Where are my faxes stored? In Fax.Plus, as always. Faxes sent or received through Salesforce also appear on the record, and your full history stays in your Fax.Plus account.

Does it work in Salesforce Classic? The Send with Fax.Plus button works in both Classic and Lightning. The full component sits on the Lightning record page.

Disconnecting

How do I disconnect the integration? A Salesforce admin disconnects it from the Fax.Plus Setup screen. Connecting and disconnecting for Salesforce happen on the Salesforce side, not from inside Fax.Plus.

Security and compliance

Is the integration HIPAA-compliant? HIPAA coverage requires the Enterprise plan and a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Alohi. If you handle protected health information, talk to us about a BAA before sending it. Without a signed BAA, do not send protected health information.
