(coming soon) Once your admin has set up Fax.Plus for Salesforce, you can send a fax and see replies from inside a record, with no switching to another app. This guide is for the Salesforce user (for example, a sales rep). You need a Fax.Plus account on the same email your admin gave access to. If you do not see the Fax.Plus tools on a record, ask your admin to place them and to confirm your access. Where the tools live
On a record (Opportunity, Contact, Account, Lead, or a custom object), you have two things:
- The Fax.Plus component, a panel on the record page with three tabs: Send, Sent, Inbox.
- The Send with Fax.Plus button, in the record’s top-right quick actions (works in both Lightning and Classic).
Send a fax
- Open the record you want to fax from.
- Select Send with Fax.Plus, or open the Send tab in the component.
- Upload the document from your computer.
- Check the Send to field. It is pre-filled with the fax or phone number on the record. You can edit it, remove it, or add more numbers. You can also search your Fax.Plus contacts.
- Check the Send from field. It is pre-filled with your number. If you have more than one, pick the one to send from.
- Select Send. A confirmation appears once the fax is on its way.
The fax also shows up on your Fax.Plus dashboard, tagged as sent from Salesforce.
Track sent faxes
Open the Sent tab in the component to see faxes sent for this record. The columns are To, When, Pages, Notes, and Status. Status values:
- Sending: the fax is going out.
- Sent: delivered.
- Failed: it did not go through; the reason is shown.
The status updates on its own as Fax.Plus reports back.
See received faxes
Open the Inbox tab to see faxes received from the numbers on this record. The columns are From, When, and Pages. The inbox is filtered to this record’s numbers, so you only see what is relevant.
Open, download, or delete a fax
Select any fax to open the PDF in the Salesforce viewer. From there you can:
- Open it in a new browser tab.
- Download it.
- Open it in Fax.Plus.
- Delete it (moves it to trash).
