What does the “Transmission Optimization” option mean?

The Transmission Optimization feature lets you choose how your document is processed before sending a fax, helping you balance clarity, speed, and content type (text or images). This setting can be selected each time you send a fax or saved as your default preference.

Available Options

🗎 Standard

  • Improves the clarity and legibility of text for easier reading.
  • This is the recommended option for most documents, especially those that contain primarily text.
  • Standard mode ensures fast and reliable fax transmission.
  • Color gradients and continuous color blocks will be impacted as the document is optimized for text.

⚡ High Definition (HD)

  • Included in paid plans
  • Optimizes documents for images, graphics, and detailed visuals.
  • This mode preserves higher image quality and resolution but may take slightly more time and consume more pages to send compared to the Standard option.

  1. Login to your Fax.Plus account, and go to the Send Fax section on your Dashboard.
  2. Click on the Gear ⚙️ icon.
  3. Once the popup window for Settings is revealed, check the box for Send as High Definition (HD)fax.
  4. Click on Send.

Note: Please note that we support 200 dpi (width) × 400 dpi (height). We also support 400 × 400 dpi; however, most physical fax machines do not support this resolution. The final resolution ultimately depends on the recipient’s fax machine. If the receiving device only supports 200 × 200 dpi, the fax will be transmitted at 200 × 200 dpi, regardless of whether High Definition (HD) is selected.
