Sign.Plus on‑premises data storage options, and S3 integration

Who can use this feature?

Available on Enterprise plans.

Accessible to Owner and Admins on Web App.

Sign.Plus is a secure, cloud‑based eSignature service rather than a program you can install and run on your own servers. This means it cannot be downloaded and hosted locally. However, you still have several options to control where your signed documents are stored:

  • Build your own storage integration with the Sign.Plus API – download signed documents and archive them on your own infrastructure.
  • Use a custom Amazon S3-compatible object storage – for high‑volume customers, we can deliver signed documents directly into your S3-compatible bucket.
  • Choose a storage region with our data residency feature – select the jurisdiction that meets your compliance needs.

  1. Build your own storage integration with the Sign.Plus API
If you want full control over your signed documents, you can integrate directly with the Sign.Plus API. Enterprise customers can generate a personal access token and use it to list documents, download completed files, and archive them on their own servers or private cloud. This approach is ideal if you need to implement on‑premises or custom cloud storage to meet your organization’s compliance or data‑retention requirements. If you prefer not to store signed documents within Sign.Plus, you can disable document storage in your account settings. When storage is disabled, completed documents will not be retained on our platform. Instead, they will be delivered to your email server and can also be fetched via the API for archiving in your own infrastructure. For technical details, refer to our API documentation.
  2. Use a custom Amazon S3-compatible object storage
For organizations that handle a large number of signed documents and prefer not to build and maintain their own API integration, Sign.Plus offers the ability to connect your own S3‑compatible object storage.
In this setup, Sign.Plus automatically uploads each completed document into an S3‑compatible bucket that you own, giving you a scalable, low‑maintenance storage solution that can handle high volumes without sacrificing ownership or control of your data. This option is ideal for businesses that need reliable S3‑compatible integration without writing custom code.  Please contact our sales team to learn more.
  3. Choose a storage region with our data residency feature
If compliance with local regulations is a priority, Sign.Plus Enterprise plans allow you to choose the region where your encrypted, signed documents are stored.
Available data residency options include (but are not limited to) the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Japan, and Australia. This feature helps your organization meet privacy and compliance requirements while continuing to use our secure, cloud‑hosted eSignature service.

For instructions on authentication and using the API, please refer to our Sign.Plus API documentation. If you’re interested in connecting a custom S3 storage or need help determining which option is best for your organization, our support team is here to assist.
Sometimes the biggest concern is simply where your data is stored. Sign.Plus Enterprise plans allow you to specify the geographic region for your document archives, such as the US, Canada, Switzerland, Japan or Australia.

This helps you satisfy local privacy regulations while still using the convenience of a hosted service.
You can find more detailed guidance, including authentication steps and endpoint descriptions, in our Sign.Plus API documentation. If you have questions about the custom S3 option or need help deciding which approach is best for your organisation, please reach out to our support team.
